A custom ring from anywhere

Sara designs for couples wherever they live: in her San Clemente studio, or by video from anywhere in the world. The process is the same either way, and most of it happens on a screen before anything is made.

What it is

A custom ring is designed, not picked. It starts with a conversation about the stone, the style and the budget, then Sara builds the ring in Rhino3D and sends photorealistic renderings. You revise together until it is right. Then a trusted casting house casts it, a master stone setter sets the stones, and the finished ring is delivered insured to your door.

By video, the only step that changes is the first one: you talk over a call instead of across the bench, scheduled around your time zone. The renderings, the revisions and the finished ring reach you wherever you are.

Why people love it

You see the ring from every angle before it exists, and you change anything you like. The design moves forward between calls by email, so there is no waiting on appointments. And because every piece is made to order, a client in Surrey and a client in San Clemente get the same ring, made the same way.

Trade-offs

You cannot try the finished ring on until it arrives, so the ring size has to be right; Sara converts UK, EU and US sizes and can mail a sizer. Delivery abroad takes a little longer than a studio pickup, and your country may charge import duty or tax on arrival. And a video call is not quite a bench: Sara shows stones on camera, but the real sparkle you see on delivery.

Who it suits

Anyone outside Southern California, anyone who travels, and anyone who would rather design from their own kitchen table. It suits couples designing together from two places just as well.

Sizes

Tell Sara the ring size you know, in any system: a UK letter, an EU circumference in millimeters or a US number. The ring size guide has the full table and three ways to measure at home, and Sara can mail a ring sizer anywhere.

The Design Studio shows every stone in millimeters and carats, so a size discussed on a call is the same size on the screen and in the finished ring.

What affects the cost

The same drivers as any custom ring: the stone, its size, shape and grade; the metal and how much of it; the setting and the hand work; and the design time. Delivery abroad is tracked and insured door to door, and any import duty or tax is charged by your country on arrival. Sara quotes the whole piece after the consultation.

Every custom piece is quoted after a consultation; there are no posted prices for custom work.

Care

Your ring arrives with the same care notes as every Pacific Jewel piece. Cleaning and inspections can be done by any good jeweler near you, and Sara is an email away for anything that needs her.

Questions

How does a video consultation work?

A call at a time that suits your time zone; clients in the UK usually meet Sara in their late afternoon or evening. Bring inspiration photos if you have them.

How do I know the ring will fit?

Tell Sara the size you know in any system, or ask for a mailed sizer. Custom rings are sized before casting, and a first resize is covered.

How is the ring delivered?

Tracked and insured door to door. Sara sends the tracking the day it leaves California.

Will I pay import duties?

Some countries charge import duty or tax on jewelry; it is collected on delivery. Sara can tell you what to expect for your piece.
