This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at pacificjewel.com, including any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related or connected thereto (collectively, the "Site").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Site. By accessing and using Pacific Jewel, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Here is plainly what the site counts, and what it never does. Nothing on this site is used for advertising. You can refuse cookies in your browser at any time; the site keeps working without them.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4), with Consent Mode
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, how long they are read for, roughly where visitors are (city and region, never a street), what kind of device they use, and how they found the site. It also counts what people do on the site: which links and buttons they tap, how far they read, what they build in the Design Studio, when they send the consultation form or book a time, and when they buy from the shop. We don't send it names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, messages, budgets or photos.
Google Analytics runs with Google Consent Mode. In the UK, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, its cookies wait until you choose Accept on the cookie banner; until then only cookieless, anonymous signals are sent. Everywhere else its analytics cookie is set unless you choose Decline. Nowhere is it used for advertising: the advertising signals are denied everywhere, for everyone.
Google Analytics does not start when a page loads. It starts on your first interaction with the page (a tap, a scroll, a key press). If you choose Decline, it is turned off right away and stays off on every later visit from that browser. When you buy from the shop or a consultation is confirmed, the site also tells Google Analytics from its own server, so the count is right even if your browser lost the page; that message carries the order or booking's reference and amount, never your name.
Google's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Vercel Web Analytics
The site is hosted on Vercel, and Vercel Web Analytics counts visits and page views without cookies and without identifying anyone: it keeps no profile, sets nothing in your browser, and works the same whether you Accept or not. It is how every visit is counted, including from the UK and Europe before a choice is made. If you choose Decline, the site stops sending it anything. See Vercel’s privacy notes for Web Analytics.
Vercel Speed Insights
Speed Insights measures how fast each page loads and responds in real visits, so we can keep the site quick. It records timings and the page, not who you are, and follows the same Decline rule.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and anonymous session replays, so we can see where a page is confusing. Every form on the site is masked, so what you type is never recorded, and Clarity is told your cookie choice the moment you make it: it honors Decline, and in the UK and Europe it records nothing until you Accept. We never tell Clarity who you are, and we don't use it for advertising. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
Where you came from
When you send a request, book a time, send a design or place an order, the site saves with it how you first found Pacific Jewel and how you arrived that day (for example “Google search” or “ChatGPT”, and the page you landed on), so Sara knows what helps people find her. It is kept in your own browser, for up to 180 days; in the UK and Europe it stays only for the visit until you Accept, and after Decline nothing is kept at all.
Meta Pixel (Facebook)
If the Meta Pixel is switched on, we use it to track conversions and user behavior for advertising purposes. It follows the same rules as Google Analytics above: it loads on your first interaction and is skipped after Decline. Visit Meta's Privacy Center to learn more.
Google Ads
If Google Ads conversion tracking is switched on, we use it to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns, with the same first-interaction and Decline rules. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
What the site counts by itself
Separately from Google Analytics, the website keeps two small counts of its own. When an AI assistant or a search engine visits (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google, Bing and others), the site records only the bot’s name as it gives it, the page it read and the date — never an address, a cookie or a browser. People are never counted this way. When someone scans one of our QR codes or opens a short link such as pacificjewel.com/go/card, the site records the code and the date, and nothing about the person.
If you use photo reading in the Design Studio, your photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude to describe the jewelry in it. We don't keep it unless you choose to send your design to Sara. Try it on in the Design Studio uses your camera or a photo only inside your browser; nothing is recorded, stored or sent.
When you book a consultation or send a design, Sara gets an email with what you sent.
When you leave a review, we keep your email only to confirm you’re a client; it’s never shown or shared.
Payment Processing
All payment information is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Stripe handles all credit card processing according to PCI DSS compliance standards. Your payment information is encrypted and protected.
Email Communications
We may send you transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates) and marketing emails (promotions, new collections, tips). You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email or contacting us directly. Transactional emails are necessary for order processing and cannot be unsubscribed from.
Third-Party Services
Our Site uses third-party service providers who may collect or receive information about you. These include:
- Stripe — Payment processing and fraud detection
- Shippo — Shipping label generation and logistics
- Google Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, Microsoft Clarity — Counting visits and page speed, never advertising
- Supabase — Database and authentication services
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. However, these service providers may use your information to improve their services.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:
- The right to know what personal information is collected, used, and shared
- The right to delete personal information (with certain exceptions)
- The right to opt-out of the "sale" of personal information
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including fulfilling orders, providing customer service, and complying with legal obligations. After your account is closed, we may retain certain information for record-keeping, fraud prevention, or as required by law.
Children's Privacy
Pacific Jewel does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of revised Privacy Policy means that you accept and agree to the changes.
